iLogix Computer Solutions provides a clean and static-safe workshop environment where we can disassemble and clean consoles. Recently, a customer brought in a PlayStation 5. Despite performing basic cleaning and using an external fan, his console continued to overheat, preventing him from playing games. While you might be able to use the console for other purposes, gaming causes the processors to work harder, increasing the heat and demanding more from the fans and cooling system.
We took apart the PlayStation and discovered a significant accumulation of dust. This is typical, as electronics tend to attract dust, which eventually acts as an insulator.

iLogix used compressed air, antistatic cleaning foam, and Isopropyl Alcohol to clean each component. It's important to avoid causing any electronic damage during this process which can very easily occur. The PS5 is held together by numerous screws, and it's crucial to ensure each screw is returned to its original position to avoid long screw damage, which can sometimes permanently harm the console.
When we put the console back together it was spotless. Needless to say we had a very happy customer.
