iLogix Computer Solutions were recently asked to repair a seriously damaged Apple iPad 9th Gen. The housing was bent in multiple places, the touchscreen was destroyed as was the LCD. After we initially examined the iPad we offered the customer some repair options. The LCD is an expensive replacement part so to make the repair more viable we suggested an A Grade refurbished LCD and offered to restructure the housing. We demonstrated the saving to the customer. The customer was of course delighted with this and was keen to press ahead.
The first thing we did was to remove the broken touchscreen and LCD. As you can imagine there was broken glass everywhere inside the case, so we removed all the glass fragments and cleaned the chassis. iLogix Computer Solutions was able to reshape the housing and reseat the volume buttons to restore their functionality.
The Apple iPad 9th Generation supports biometric security in the form of finger print unlock so to avoid losing this function the home button and its flex cable needed to be moved between the broken and the new touch screens.
A new touchscreen and refurbished LCD was installed. The device was thoroughly tested and a new screen protector was installed.
